Happy Birthday Daddy!

Nick turned the big 28 today! We had a fun little family birthday party. Tomorrow night we'll have a party with all Nick's family at Brock & Abbie's house. Abbie is Nick's twin sister. The girls loved helping with the cake and presents. We had a late party because Nick was out I.V.ing one of the new colts til late. We've had 4 new colts in the last couple weeks! I need to post pics of them. They're so cute. Anyway one of the colts has been real dehydrated so Nick has been taking good care of it giving it lots of fluid through I.V. Just takes lots of time. Anyway, Happy Birthday Baby! We love you!

CANADA!!

We are in Canada. And it is lovely. We are up for some horse business. Haha. I'm always up for a trip to Barnwell! I'm sure the rest of the fam is very jealous. The only thing that could make it better was if Grandma were here. Hope she gets home soon. We came up to Edmonton today after the horse sale. We even made it to the West Edmonton Mall-- the LARGEST MALL IN NORTH AMERICA! Yeah, anyone jealous? They have every store you could ever imagine. And an indoor amusement park, ice rink, waterpark . . . it is enormous. This was actually my second time at the mall, crazy . . . the last time was probably about 15 years ago. And wouldn't ya know we had to leave Idaho to get some nice weather . . . in CANADA! Seriously. It's been beautiful.

Washington Trip

Last week we were in Washington . . . where Nick did some horse business. (If you can believe that). Haha. Nick worked hard, while the girls and I played and enjoyed the sites of Northwest WA. Nick shod lots of horses (for those of you who don't know what this means, I wouldn't of, he put shoes on them). It was a fun trip to get away! On the way home we even got to stay at the Osborne Resort in Moses Lake . . . it was FABULOUS!

And she loved watching these little guys . . . they were pretty funny. We were supposed to come home with an empty trailer . . . but no. That would be too easy. Instead we brought home two more horses, a pig, and a goat. Yes, crazy I know.

My Old Dress

On Sunday Lucy wore one of my dresses that I wore as a little girl. My Mom saved it in the attic all those years! Lucy has about outgrown it but she always gets lots of comments on it when she wears it to church. As you can tell, she didn't want to cooperate too well . . .

Happy Easter!

I got fabric a couple of months ago to make Easter dresses for the girls and finally got up the courage to start them on Friday. Crazy I know. So here they are, after a couple really late nights. I had to call my Mom several times for directions over the phone. Thanks Mom! Anyway, I think I better go get started on next years . . . Hope everyone had a great Easter! [This last pic is of Lucy with her new puppy, Sadie. They are such cute buddies.]

DISNEYLAND!!!

We had an awesome trip to Southern California, where we met up with Grandma & Grandpa Bailey and Uncle Brian. We went to Disneyland and California Adventure, and then went south to San Diego! Lucy loved Disneyland. Her favorite rides were Dumbo and the Tea Cups. Surprisingly, Lucy was just tall enough for all the "big" rides. The height requirement is 40 inches and she is about 39.75, but with shoes she is 40 easy. So we took her on Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain Railroad and the Matterhorn, but for some reason she always wanted to go back to Dumbo! She had so much fun and hasn't stopped talking about it since. Too bad she probably won't remember the trip . . . I guess that just means we'll have to go again!! On Huck Finn's? island. Lucy had a great time running around. We about lost her on several occasions. Not on purpose.

We spent awhile at this treehouse. Lucy would run up and down and around and wave at us on the bench everytime she past. She made it up and down surprisingly fast by the end!

After Disneyland we went down to San Diego and dropped Brian off with the Guest's. Then we headed to Ahlstrom's before going home. On the way home we got to stop in Las Vegas to meet up with Char (my old roommate) and her boyfriend for lunch! It was great to see her and meet her man. Then we stopped for a break in St. George and walked around the temple grounds and saw the home Nick's mom lived in growing up.

We enjoyed the weather and can't wait for it to make it here! It was a great trip- thanks Mom, Dad, & Brian!!!

Kate Update

Just thought I'd write a few things about our little Kate real quick. I really want to post pictures of our California trip, but Brian has them on his camera. But I'll get them and post them soon. We had so much fun!! It was really hard to come home to snow. Anyway Kate is such a fun baby, even if she is a bit of a momma's girl, and extremely clingy. I never realized how opposite two kids could be. She's finally starting to get a little more brave and be social. It's been rather nice. She is nine months and has been crawling and climbing for a couple months now. She loves to get into anything she can, especially the toilet. I thought we still had a few months . . . but anytime the bathroom door is open you can bet she'll be in there. Kate is still having a rough time with the tear ducts. The probing we had done didn't do much good and both eyes are still closed off. We have decided to go ahead with the surgery to put tubes in to open the ducts. The tubes will be left in for 10-12 weeks and then will be pulled out, in hopes to keep them open! The poor girl has to deal with me constantly wiping and cleaning her eyes. No fun. We have the surgery scheduled for the middle of May. Kate is still pretty small and petite, but oh so cute! She has four teeth now and still not much hair. She's started to stand by herself, and I'm sure it won't be long before she starts walking. Darn it! Then I'll really be in trouble trying to chase two. Lucy and Kate have lots of fun together. I often hear them giggling from the other room. It's so cute. I know this is really random, so I'll stop, but I wanted to write a few things so I don't forget!

Lucy is 3 Now!!

Lucy turned 3 years old on Sunday! I can't believe it. She is so much fun these days. I really can't imagine life without her. She is really starting to grow up darn it! We had a fun little party with family and Lucy had a great day. She's been practicing how to do 3 with her fingers for weeks now. She was so excited to show everyone at church. Lucy keeps us very busy and loves to spend time with Daddy and the horses. She loves princesses . . . right now Ariel is her favorite. She wanted a mermaid cake for her birthday- but I'm lame and didn't want to try and make a mermaid cake, instead we did fondant, since that's easier. Not. It was a last minute attempt- just ask Alisa. But I learned a lot and it was fun. Well, I still need to post kitchen pictures. We do have a 'functioning' kitchen again!! Yay! Now all we need is trim and crown molding. It looks great. I'll post those pictures soon. Tomorrow we are off to Disneyland for a few days with Grandma & Grandpa Bailey and Uncle Brian! Woo hoo! Lucy can't wait, it will be so FUN! Here's a few pics of the birthday girl!

And the most exciting present was to be able to hold her cousin Kalli for the first time! We are so glad that Kalli is home and doing well. She spent her first two months down at Primary Children's, but is thankfully home now. And she is the CUTEST little thing ever!

Slowly, But Surely . . .

What a job this has been! Originally, we weren't planning to sheetrock all the walls, but once we tore down one, we figured we might as well do the rest. The girls and I made it home last Friday from Oregon. Nick had gotten so much done while we were gone- new plumbing, tearing down more walls, sheetrocking, taping, mudding, sanding, texturing, painting, wiring . . . thank goodness for such a handy, AMAZING husband! He's done a ton of work. Since I came home we put in the floor, finished painting, put up the upper cabinets, and just started with the cleaning of a plaster covered house. I can't wait to post pictures of the final product one of these days. It looks amazing already. I can't believe the difference the new floor and walls make, it's beautiful. The cabinets are going to be so nice- a HUGE thanks to Brant for all his help. Hope I can post more pictures when it is finished soon. In the meantime, here are a few from along the way!
