The Mouse & Lion at the Zoo

Last week we went to "B00 at the Zoo," apparently everyone else had the same great idea. Even though it was very crowded we had lots of fun and have never seen so many animals out where you could see them at any zoo before. Maybe it was because it was in the evening. Lucy's favorite is always the monkeys and she loved the candy too.

A SNEAK PEEK . . .

Last night was our ward's Halloween party. Lucy had a great time trick or treating and playing fun games! Nick is an Amish man . . . in case you were wondering.

Pumpking Carving Fun!

For Family Home Evening last week we carved our lovely, home-grown pumpkins from the garden. Nick had the great idea of carving them in Lucy's little swimming pool (to keep the mess contained). It worked great! We had lots of fun, but I just realized that we didn't get any pictures of the carved pumpkins! Now that they have been outside for a week they are kind of scary looking because they have been frozen so many times!

Proposition 8

The Church held a fireside broadcast this week where Elders M. Russell Ballard, Quentin L. Cook and L. Whitney Clayton confronted issues concerning same-sex marriages. They urged members to take action to support California's Proposition 8. The fireside, entitled "The Divine Institution of Marriage," informed members of the Church of California's current attempt to redefine the concept of marriage. In November, Californians will vote on Proposition 8, which defines marriage in California as between a man and a woman. This video has segments from the broadcast to Church members addressing the Church’s doctrine of marriage.

Another Horse!

That's right! Lucy & I just got a new horse for ourselves. We are so excited to have a "small" horse around to ride! He is a good old horse and will be fun to learn from. I'm not sure who's more excited though- me or Janelle! Maybe now she'll come see me! Notice my nice pink saddle with hearts in the pictures! Hopefully we will have a few more nice days to ride before the winter really sets in. It did snow today so I know it's not too far off, darn it!

Nathan & Alisa are Engaged!

This post is a little past due, but can I just say I am so excited for a sister-in-law! My little brother is getting married- crazy. We are all very excited for both of them and can't wait for Alisa to be a part of the fam. Lucy is pretty much obsessed with Alisa and is always talking about her. This summer, when we were in Klamath, Alisa spent many hours jumping on the trampoline with Lucy . . . when no one else would. The first thing Lucy would say when she'd see Alisa was "Let's go jump" and take her by the finger to the tramp. And Alisa went everytime. She is so sweet! They are planning to get married in December in the Medford temple. We couldn't be more happy for them!

Keepin' the road HOT!

In the month of September it seemed like we were always going, going, going. First it was back and forth to Blackfoot for the horse show there. Then we were home for a couple days and then headed to Salt Lake for a horse pull down there. We had fun seeing Benson's and Harrison's. Then it was home again for a day and off to Deer Lodge, Montana. Yes, we are CRAZY . . . but it's not over yet. We spent the weekend there for another show. Then we returned home for a few days and left the next weekend for Sandpoint. We had fun at the show there and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. And yes, we returned home once again only to leave the next week for Oregon. Nick pulled horses in Medford last weekend and will again tomorrow. I guess he's got the "bug" or something. For those of you who don't know what a horse pull is I will post a picture. We have been having tons of fun here with Grandma and Grandpa Bailey and Uncle Brian.
